Pollination
All chapters
Growers pay to have colonies in their crops at bloom: around ¤50 to ¤110 a colony for orchards and berries, far more for almonds. Colonies are graded by frames of bees; weak ones are paid nothing. The bees come back with less honey, sometimes with mites picked up from other apiaries, sometimes with pesticide damage.
